Greetings from
Hopewell Valley
Thanks for visiting our website!
In order to collect our list of images that represent Hopewell Valley, we interviewed historians, poured over books, joined the Hopewell Valley Historical Society, wandered through the Hopewell Museum, googled many subjects....and we came up with images you see here. This website is designed to provide more information - the stories behind the pictures. For example, there is a legend about the name ‘Hopewell’, that says the name comes from two farmers calling greetings to each other: “Hope you are well” and “I am well”, leading to the names Hopewell and Amwell.

Gesso prepares or primes a surface by making the surface slightly textured and ready to accept acrylic paint. We rolled on and brushed on gesso in layers before we began the lay out and painting.

As sorry as we are to see this ox go, we look forward to sharing our design with you all as "Greetings from Hopewell Valley" takes on a new home at Rosedale Mills on Route 31 in Pennington. Enjoy!
